Construction Progressing at Watercrest Santa Rosa Beach Assisted Living Center and Memory

The new Watercrest facility in Santa Rosa Beach is entering its final phase of construction with over 60% of the project completed. In a recent press release announcement, the leadership teams of Watercrest Senior Living group and The St. Joe Company stated that the 107-unit, 92,000 square foot luxury senior living community and the building is on schedule to welcome residents in late 2020.

The Watercrest Santa Rosa Beach facility will be a signature Watercrest product, offering 75 assisted living and 32 memory care apartments with resort-style service and world-class care. As with its other properties, this Watercrest location will feature the architecture and design that boasts a stunning promenade, fireplace, signature water wall, multiple dining options, pool, salon and spa, grand balconies, and Florida-style outdoor living spaces.

The new Watercrest facility is located at 205 West Hewett Road, and fits seamlessly amongst the charming and idyllic towns known for their Southern hospitality and not far from the 26-mile stretch of white-sand beach along the Emerald Coast. Additionally, Watercrest’s uniquely designed Market Street Residence will showcase an ‘outdoor’ streetscape with numerous LifeBUILT programming touches, which is a crucial element of their multi-sensory memory care programming.

Together with its consolidated subsidiaries, The St. Joe Company is a real estate development, asset management and operation company. The Company owns land concentrated primarily in Northwest Florida and has significant residential and commercial land-use entitlements in hand or in process.

The contractor on the project is EMJ, a construction company founded in 1968 that has built over 280 million square feet of construction projects across the US. With offices in Tennessee and Texas, EMJ has constructed projects in industries as diverse as entertainment, healthcare, industrial, hotel, multi-unit housing, industrial, and senior living.

In the press release, Marc Vorkapich, Principal and CEO of Watercrest Senior Living Group commented, “Watercrest Santa Rosa Beach has made significant progress since our groundbreaking celebration last fall and we are thankful to all of our partners for their outstanding support. We look forward to establishing relationships within Santa Rosa Beach and offering local seniors a diverse and enriching lifestyle in this spectacular beachside community.”
